A few of my photos I took of Frogs, Birds, Insects and Reptiles.
Who's is this???
It did help. But was not the permanent solution. In this house it was ok (window to the right). We moved and now it lives away from a window. I propped the lid so its flat with 2 chocks of timber, the whole front is open now. I need the lid to protect furniture and electronics. A couple of other changes have been made in the past 5 years.
You have some room in the tank for some more pet rocks.
The UVB light is way too far from the turtle and basking area to be effective.
Unfortunately there is still not enough ventilation.
@Aussiepride83 check this out. Where does the turtle fit in here? How can it swim?
The rocks and pebbles need to be removed. The turtle needs room to swim.
The rocks and pebbles need to be removed.
Where is there room for the turtle? The rocks and pebbles should be removed immediately.
The water depth is too shallow and the pebbles and rocks need to be removed. The basking area is also too far away from the UVB source.
love this pond its looks fantastic would love to see more photos like from the side but also are you using clear polycarbonate roofing for the sides?
Move aside 'Jack & Rose'!
Take a closer look "hands together and the other is on the shoulder" priceless!
Wow, it looks like you have a two-headed turtle Erica.
Hello, I am looking after Riley after he was ?run over about 5 weeks ago. He(?) has a broken shell and I think one of his front legs is also damaged. I am keeping him in dry dock and putting him in a shallow bath daily for about 30-60 minutes to allow him to rehydrate. I am putting small pieces of whitebait into the water, but he has not shown any interest in eating at all. I am keen to hear suggestions about what I can do to encourage him to eat or should I be patient and allow Mother Nature to
Yes that's correct. You can use these ones or whatever plant lights you want.
The T8 tropical 40W Aqua One... is this the light you were referring to that will help my newly installed aquatic plants live?
$15 for a 3 month supply from my local Mitre 10 store.
My pond 3 macleays and 1 eastern down bottom left
Hi just wondering what time of the year do macleays lay there eggs cause I think my female has eggs
Nice I have macleays as well
His right eye is fine, it just appears strange in this photo. Will take a better shot soon.
No it's not fat. That's oedema caused by organ failure.
G'day mate, this setup has many flaws. The UVB lighting is way too far away from your turtles. As it's a T8 style, it cannot be any further than 15cm from the water. The rocks in the tank are also a big no-no for turtles. Sand and turtle grit is much safer and a better option for maintaining overall health and well-being.
Yep, sure did. Nom nom nom. They get about a dozen Mystery snails/fortnight.
Awsome Photo! Did this guy/girl eat those snails?
I really like the looks of this lake! I'd love to have a dive in it.
It's fat... Is that why that happened?
Yes they certainly are!
Hahaha, turtles are addictive...
great shot soo cute
I'm a pretty good photographer hey!
Yeah mate it's getting a bit ridiculous actually. I'm going to head to Bunning's Warehouse one day very shortly and pick up a decent sized compost bin or something similar and move the entire colony outside into the back garden somewhere (like how Craig has his woody colony) so they have more space. Hopefully some local wild frogs and birds will help themselves and thin them out a little. The 83 litre tub they're currently in is getting way too cramped now and extremely heavy for me to lift
That looks really great mate, I'm aiming for something like this very soon!
Oh wow! That is a thriving colony! Well done mate.
Oh great that's exactly what my Murray was doing today, I wasn't sure if he is trying to escape or just stretching out and enjoying the sun I'm off to pick up one of those clam pools tomorrow
